From Russia with love for Rolling Stone
The Sun can't get enough of Ronnie Wood at the moment following their "world exclusive" that he was spending rather more time with a 20-year-old Russian cocktail waitress than a married man of 61 really should. The first picture of the Rolling Stone and Ekaterina Ivanova covers the front page today.
Blaze of glory
Oops! The Daily Record has a gardening story which is more burned fingers than green. Retired scientist Robert Gailey accidentally set fire to his neighbour's garden while trying to clear his drive of weeds. A £20 handheld blowtorch did rather more than he intended when stray sparks ended up incinerating next door's garden. Gailey told the paper: "There's a lot of damage caused to the garden, which is a terrible shame because it was lovely and mature." No damage came to either house and the neighbours have agreed a bill for repairs to the garden.
You couldn't make it up, Gwyneth
The Daily Mirror relies on good old celebrity with a page three devoted to Gwyneth Paltrow – looking natural. The paper gushes over photographs of the actress which shows she "still manages to look a million dollars" without make-up.
One diner at a charity dinner in New York, where she made the au naturel appearance, said: "She looked completely natural and absolutely stunning even without the glitzy outfit, stilettos or make-up." And in true tabloid style they add: "Despite the mouth-watering dinner most of the guys spent the night feasting their eyes on her."

BT in £1.5bn internet plan
BT is proposing to suspend its £2.5bn share buy-back programme to fund a new super-fast broadband project.
The scheme, which is likely to cost up to £1.5bn, could see as many as 10 million British homes accessing broadband speeds of between 40 and 100 megabits per second by 2012 – considerably faster than the speeds achieved now.
BT says the project would allow people living in the same household to use several applications demanding high broadband speeds, for example high definition films, at the same time.
But it insists it will only forge ahead with the project if Ofcom allows it to make a suitable return on its investment.
BT chief executive Ian Livingston said the scheme "marks the beginning of a new chapter in Britain's broadband story".

Jailhouse knock

Tamas set for Celtic move
Gabriel Tamas is set to complete a £3.5m move to Celtic after the Parkhead club received permission to speak to the Auxerre defender.
The 24-year-old Romania international is set to become Gordon Strachan's second signing of the summer following the recent recruitment of Paddy McCourt from Derry City.
Auxerre manager Jean Fernandez said: "I expected to see Gabriel back at training on Monday after he was given an extended break following his hectic summer with Romania.
"But I got a call first thing from his agent to confirm he was on his way to Glasgow to talk to Celtic.
"If it all goes through then I will be delighted for Gabriel. He is a big, big player with huge ambitions in the game and Celtic are the right club to match them."
Shittu still wants Rangers place
Watford defender Danny Shittu insists he is still keen to move to Rangers despite accusing the Ibrox club of causing the collapse of the deal.
Rangers had a £1.5m bid accepted for the 27-year-old Nigeria international but it was reported that his personal demands had proved too much for Light Blues' boss Walter Smith.
Shittu, however, claimed Rangers had altered the personal terms first offered, but claims he is still willing to talk to the Govan club.
He said: "I was prepared to join Rangers.
"They put a proposal on the table which I accepted but when it came to putting the contract in writing the deal had changed.
"This is where the breakdown in talks has come as far as I'm concerned.
"I know there is other interest out there but my first choice remains Rangers and I still believe a deal can be done.
"I certainly haven't closed the door on the move, but it's up to Rangers."

Strangely addictive, this site gives all of us the chance to play at being agony aunt or uncle. Anyone is invited to send their problems (anonymously), and the site will then suggest four possible solutions. Other site users can vote on which solution is the best. It's a bit like The Jeremy Kyle show without the violence.
