THE DUCKWORTH LEWIS METHOD
The Duckworth Lewis Method

**

Divine Comedy Records, DLM002, £11.74
Neil Hannon takes a break from Divine Comedy for this excursion into the deep covers of a cricket album, in the company of one Thomas Walsh of the band Pugwash.

It is an ambitious blend of Flanders & Swann mingling with Gilbert & Sullivan on 'Jiggery Pokery', possibly the first song written about a single ball bowled in an Ashes series. The lyrics are as slippery and clever as Shane Warne's delivery was that day in 1993, but even backing vocals from Phill Jupitus and Alexander Armstrong fail to elicit an 'Howzat!'
