TO START this week, I give you this magnificent portal to all things blues. Click on any of the icons and they take you to a brilliant little site, usually based on some 78rpm label and filled with ancient interviews of singers and label bosses telli
ng tales of how they came to record their songs. Hours, and I genuinely mean hours, of entertainment here.
SUPER POWERS, SUPER CAMPAT THE moment Hugh Jackman holds that much coveted title of "Most Manly Action Hero" for his X-Men shenanigans. However, it seems Mr Jackman wasn't always so manly, as this little clip proves. Here he is caught on stage as gay songster Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz, camping his way through I Go to Rio.
VLAD'S PAD YES, this is perhaps a step away from the usual clips, games and general cultural paraphernalia, but stay with me. Medieval-castle.com is a site devoted to all things medieval and castle-related. That's interesting enough, but what kicks it into this week's column is that it has a section devoted to Dracula's castle – as in the real Count Vlad Dracula.
GET YOUR UNDEAD HERE BACK to the usual stuff, and a little game from the Ronseal ("Does What It Says On The Tin") school. Endless Zombie Rampage 2 (yes, there is another one, but I couldn't find it) is a joyful romp through the world of the undead. Shoot as many as you can, watch out for when they start running at you, then head back to the base to be paid. I lost the best part of an hour building up a vast pile of undead brains.
WAXING RHAPSODICALTO FINISH off, we're kicking it seriously old school style. Just listen to this: Bohemian Rhapsody as interpreted by a very, very old computer. It even does the choral stuff, sort of. Wayne's World, eat your heart out. Then, perhaps not. Still, kudos for the obvious hours of effort put in to getting this to work.
