Unleash the kids on those weeds
KIDS bored already? Well, you could try to kill two birds with one stone by putting them to work in the garden. Hours of entertainment, plus a weed-free tidy patch!

Er, what do you mean, you didn't want a two-feet hole in the middle of the lawn? There was a very interesting worm which kept wiggling further down, but don't worry, it's here now, look . . .

Oh, well, even if it doesn't help get the gardening chores done, it might just sow the seeds of a lifelong love of the natural world and all things green and growing.

And there's a fantastic range of kids' gardening tools and accessories out there, from children's specialists, such as the Early Learning Centre, to garden centres, such as Dobbies.

Supermarkets are worth a try, too – Sainsbury has a fabulous range.
