Assembled from a recording at this year's Celtic Connections, the ex-Runrig vocalist performs a selection of songs under the title An Turas (The Journey) hung round ideas of emigration from Scotland to America. With his own band, guest soloists on sax, fiddle and accordion, an RSAMD string section and the Glasgow Islay Gaelic Choirplus, it's a big-stage production that will delight his many fans. Musically though, Munro emigrated to America years ago, and a portentous transatlantic country rock dominates the album's soundscape.
