Five Dollar Dress

The opening 'Just What I Needed' sounds vaguely familiar, until it dawns that it is a cover of The Cars' Eighties hit in a lo-fi folk setting.
Sadly, the song is not quite strong enough for this drastic reworking, but it does set the tone for the next 10 numbers.
'Not Exactly', 'I Wrote Your Name' and 'Hold Me Down' drift gently, the latter a sweet but not seductive bossa nova.
'Daybreak' has more substance but ultimately, just like a five dollar dress, the album is fine on a couple of outings but not for the long term.
