If British urban music is in a recession as Rodney Smith would have us believe, then his fourth album proper as Roots Manuva is a strong case for continued investment.

"A lot of people don't know about Smith, how I came to the scene and came to uplift," he rhymes on 'Again And Again', one of the record's most uplifting tunes. 'The Struggle,' meanwhile, emphasises the serious side of only enjoying modest success in music, and the anxiety that brings to a family man. His toasting has a delicious thin English spread adorning it, and never more tasty than on 'Buff Nuff'.
