LAST weekend, I took part in the closing "Question Time"-style debate for the Society of Authors in Scotland Conference.
Nicola Morgan, the award-winning children's author and Chair of the Society hosted the panel, which included the children's writer and Edinburgh International Book Festival board member Jamie Jauncey; Marion Sinclair from Publishing Scotland; freelance journalist and publishing commentator Danuta Kean and myself.
We've made available a podcast of the first two "rounds", with all their disagreements, contentious claims and insiders' insight: is Scottishness a bane or a blessing for writers, and to what extent do we support the striking Hollywood screenwriters? In coming weeks we'll be adding more podcasts, including interviews with writers and exclusive readings from new books.
