I KNOW you get a healthy wad on Ebay for this sort of thing, but really, whoever stole Kurt Cobain's ashes the other day is taking things a step too far.
That's right, according to reports the iconic Nirvana singer's remains (the location of which had previously been kept secret - though not secret enough, it seems) were taken from the Los Angeles home of his widow Courtney Love.

The ashes were said to have been stashed away safely in a "pink teddy bear-shaped bag along with a lock of his hair" and were stolen along with some of Love's jewellery and clothes.

Poor Love. Understandably, the Hole singer is gutted about the whole thing and ready for a right dust up with whoever stole her hubbies, er, dust.

"I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me," she cried. "If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do."

Some of Cobain's ashes were previously scattered near his home in Washington State and some at a New York Buddhist temple, with his widow retaining the rest at her home.

Love added, "They were all that I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again."

Just a thought, and I'd hate to cause any offence here, but I wonder have the police even thought to question Keith Richards?

Seriously, it's not as far fetched as it sounds. After all, we know the Rolling Stone has previous as far as these things go, having admitted last year that he snorted a line of his own dad's ashes.

Keef, if it's not too late, hand them back. You've what, you've smoked them? Oh, Nevermind.

In other news, Razorlight have just revealed their third studio album will be out later this year.

Speaking to the NME, the ever-modest Johnny Borrell says the new record is sounding "incredible".

"We're just making the album at the moment – we're having an amazing time making the record," said the gobby singer, whose ego is said to resemble a small planet.

Brace yourselves, the new record, the follow up to the band's 2006 self-titled second album, should be coming out later this year. I know, I know... but contain yourselves.

Borrell said of the new album, "It's sounding incredible and it's practically finished – I think it'll definitely be out this year."

Me, I'm on the edge of my seat just thinking about it, Johnny. I mean, after all, maybe it won't sound incredible, but it couldn't be any worse than your last effort, could it? It surely couldn't contain a song more cringe-worthy than America, could it?

No, it's unlikely, Johnny, because that would be incredible.

Steal ashes? Who'd go and do a thing like that?
