THIS WEMYSS HATPIN holder is likely to have been produced circa 1900. It was made by Robert Heron & Son, at Gallatown, Kirkcaldy, and there is a high chance that it was originally sold in London and made its way back to Scotland. Through the patronage of the nearby Wemyss family the factory was able to secure a lucrative outlet at the luxury London store Thomas Goode & Son and many Wemyss pieces are marked with their name. Small pieces of Wemyss are very collectable.
