DAVID Miliband has lined up former Cabinet minister Alan Milburn to be Chancellor of the Exchequer if he takes over from Gordon Brown as Prime Minister, it was reported today.
A newspaper report claimed the Foreign Secretary had been holding talks with the former Health Secretary about a senior role in a Miliband government.

Mr Milburn, an ultra-Blairite who clashed with Mr Brown when he was in government, has said that he would be happy to take the Treasury.

The news follows last week's article by the Foreign Secretary setting out his vision for reviving Labour's fortunes.

The report quoted what it described as a Labour source close to the Miliband-Milburn negotiations as saying: "David has done what he set out to do – to show very clearly that he is prepared to take on the leadership."

The report comes a day after Chancellor Alistair Darling held open the prospect of a stamp duty holiday in an attempt to restore confidence in the housing market.

While not a fan of Broon or Labour I feel the sooner he gets rid of Miliband the better.

Shouldn't the headline read, "Milburn Gets Senior Role in little Millie Band's Pipe Dream"?
