THE introductory spiel given by clerk of court Richard Newlands to potential jurors was interrupted by a vibrating about his person. "This is a good time to remind you to switch off mobile phones," he said.
Wishful thinking
SOME people see things differently, like the father of the man about to be sentenced for shooting somebody. He didn't think his son's jail term would be too long "because he has pleaded guilty and he only had a shotgun".
