NEW Livingston manager Roberto Landi last night started the process of assembling virtually a whole new squad with a 1-1 draw against Romanian side FC Unirea Urziceni at Almondvale.
Left with only six recognised first-team players following the Italian takeover last month, Landi fielded eight trialists against Romania's fifth-top side coached by former Chelsea defender Dan Petrescu.

The new Almondvale manager has spent the past ten days assessing a range of players and is understood to have signed former Port Vale left-back Jason Talbot ahead of the game. But this first outing of pre-season was the only chance for some of the overseas contingent to win a deal.

Landi fielded two entirely different teams, with Joe Hamill and Anthony McParland both playing a part.

The visitors went ahead in the 57th minute, but Livingston teenager Keaghan Jacobs fired in a rebound in injury time to give Landi an unbeaten start.
