Arbors Records ARCD 19357, £13.99

Familiar as the one-time guitarist with tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton's group, Chris Flory has been leading his own trios since the late 1980s, and this recording, his debut CD for Arbors, showcases him both as sideman and leader.

He's joined by the likes of trumpeter Jon-Erik Kellso, organ player Mike LeDonne and tenor saxophonist Dan Block, who provide colour and contrast while highlighting the Charlie Christian-influenced Flory's range of repertoire, from blues to ballads.
