EAGLES OF DEATH METAL

Heart On

****

V2 VVR886803, £11.99
Josh Homme's side project with Jesse Hughes is becoming more serious fun by the album, this third offering taking their scuzzball Seventies rock to more intense heights.

Not that '(I Used To Couldn't Dance) Tight Pants' is remotely po-faced, but the overall impression is that they are no longer fooling around. Still, 'Solo Flights' is a darkly humorous ode to sex with someone you love.

The garage stomp of the closing 'I'm Your Torpedo' suggests Homme may be ready to invest even more of his time in the Eagles' future.
