Australian-born soprano Danielle de Niese made her professional debut at 15, was the youngest singer ever taken on by the Metropolitan Opera's young artist programme and debuted there at 19.
Here, she tackles a variety of female roles from the good Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare to the wicked Medea in Teseo. De Niese displays a striking technique and her vocal range is superb, never seeming strained or edgy. At a remarkably early age, she is establishing a career which, one hopes, has many more years to run.
