The opening 'Built To Last' with its gently cascading piano, flatters to deceive with a melody that would get the nod of approval from New Radicals' Gregg Alexander, but from there on in it dissolves irretrievably into a pile of MOR gloop.

At the band's most frivolous – 'Frequently Baby (She's Just A Teenage Maniac)' – Melee are more to be pitied than scorned, but 'Can't Hold On' is such a litany of pop clichés it is hard to feel anything but a hatred dormant since REO Speedwagon last troubled the chart.
