YES, I know everyone knows that the latest Batman movie is almost upon us, but the website contains the most up-to-date trailer, which suggests The Dark Knight will be one humdinger of a film, and in all likelihood vanquish those images of rubber-nippled bat suits...

HAVING reached a point where computer games are the de facto wreckers of civilisation, this little American news clip from 1988 shows that, in fact, it was with the advent of Mario Bros that the rot set in. No really. Just shows you how much has changed, though: all the heads of the corporations are mulleted bow-tie wearers talking about how Mario and Luigi represent "the best in us all". Oh, if only they knew what lay ahead of them.

A FORMER obsession of this column revisited: rubbish record covers. It just goes to prove that the hysteria surrounding self-producing and promoting artists on the web is ill-founded. Just look at some of these woeful efforts and ask yourself this: would any self-respecting record label ever pay for this bunch to go near a recording studio? Exactly. It's actually difficult to choose a particular favourite out of this bunch, but The Electric Amish A Hard Day's Work certainly comes high on the Uh?-ometer.
