This 39-year-old German artist produces haunting photographs, the product of repeat sittings and sessions of computer manipulation to perfect form and colour. The resulting portraits, mainly of children, have a special quality of colour – both pale and saturated, which looks as contradictory as it sounds. Her subjects stare out of the frame and straight into your soul. The work has been compared to Velazquez, Julia Margaret Cameron and Phillip Otto Runge. You probably can't afford the real thing, but until your lottery ticket pays out, this site is a feast for the eyes.
