by Alistair Sinclair, Glasgow

"SCOTLAND is a great country to photograph – despite the weather," says Alistair Sinclair. The former social worker only took up photography in earnest when he was made redundant in 2003 and has already won several awards. "I was driving up to Fort William in October and saw the sun rising as I came across the moor. I could hear stags calling across the hills and this shot really captured the experience.

Can you do better than this? We are looking for the best amateur photography in Scotland. The choice of subject – people, industry, nature, scenery – doesn't matter. The pictures just have to be eye-catching.
