THIS picture was taken in October in East Lothian. "I like photographing clouds and have an interesting collection of them," says Matt McPherson. "Cirrus clouds, like the one in this photo, form above 8,000m (26,000ft), and the hair-like filaments are caused by ice crystals precipitating from the wispy cloud. Sometimes people call them mare's tails."
Can you do better than this? We are looking for the best amateur photography in Scotland. The choice of subject – people, industry, nature, scenery – doesn't matter. The pictures just have to be eye-catching.
