by David Cameron, Cumbernauld

"The previous day the weather had been terrible," says David Cameron. "My wife and I had gone to Skye for a long weekend in early May and were due to leave but the weather finally improved and turned glorious, so we decided to have a picnic lunch at Elgol before heading home. It was so clear we could see hill walkers on the mountains, and I spent about an hour taking pictures."

Can you do better than this? We are looking for the best amateur photography in Scotland. The choice of subject – people, industry, nature, scenery – doesn't matter. The pictures just have to be eye-catching.
