TODAY seems an appropriate time to recall great bankers and their achievements. One such was Kenneth Grahame, who was secretary of the Bank of England in Edwardian times.
I'm not au fait with what he actually did in such a position. Very little, I imagine. Perhaps he did some filing, but then he'd have had a secretary to do that. He was not a secretary in the taking down shorthand and knickers sense. He was THE secret...
