THE UK has one of the highest rates of allergy in the world, with the number of cases trebling in the last 30 years.
Despite this, there are few specially trained doctors, with only six or so allergy centres in Britain.

There are many theories as to why rates of allergy are increasing, but the thought that increased cleanliness affects the developing immune sys...

I've always said that kids brought up on a farm had far fewer allergies than "townies". We were in the barns at an early age, shovelling manure, we played in - and ate -dirt that was fertilized with manure. we drank unpasteurized milk - ofter right from the teat - Had no refrigeration except for an icehouse. My grandfather lived to 95 and my mother to 93.The phrase, 'cleanliness is next to godliness' is true only because it gets you next to him sooner.
