RANGERS legend Mark Hateley has castigated the current side for losing to FBK Kaunas in the Champions League – and reserved special criticism for the players who started on the bench, writes Angus Wright.
Jean-Claude Darcheville, Andy Webster, Brahim Hemdani, Kris Boyd and new signings Andrius Velicka and Kyle Lafferty were named as substitutes in the 2-1 defeat.

After a widespread dissection of the starting team in his newspaper column, in which veteran Christian Dailly came in for the most scathing criticism, Hateley continued: "As for the subs? Let's put it this way – if I couldn't get a game in that Rangers team I would be hanging up my boots.

"In fact, now is the time for each and every one of Walter's squad to look in the mirror and start asking themselves some searching questions.

"They can start by working out exactly how much they owe their manager and their football club. Those who are unwilling or unable to start repaying the debt would be better off emptying their lockers at Murray Park."
