Guy Grieve's Alaskan adventure

Our Guy talks about Alaska A FORMER Evening News marketing man is to tell the story of how he left a comfortable job to survive alone for a year in the freezing Alaskan wilderness.

Starvation and solitude have given me a new appetite for life GUY GRIEVE TREES fall and seasons pass. We all live and we all will die; we are mortal, and so are our dreams. I write this last column at the end of this particular dream, from a spare room in my mother's house which overlooks Tobermory harbour. The May sunshine sparkles on clear water and I can hear the faint tinkling of yacht halyards in the light breeze.

A return to nature with a night on bear mountain GUY GRIEVE gave up a desk job to spend a year in the Alaskan wilderness. Here he continues his story.

A sad farewell to my dogs of awe ... I will never forget them GUY GRIEVE LAST week I hooked my huskies up to the sled for the last time. It was time to return them to their owner, as I was in the last stages of dismantling my camp.
